The Westmont Fire Department mourns the passing of one of its own, Captain Patrick Foley. Captain Foley, 47 years old, passed away suddenly on January 27, 2009. Pat was a part-time Captain for the Department and was also employed as a career Battalion Chief for the Darien Woodridge Fire Protection District for 22 years.
Pat joined the Westmont Fire Department on January 26, 1991. He had just completed his eighteenth year with the Department. Pat began his career as a Firefighter being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant within two years and finally being promoted to the rank of Captain in March of 1998. Pat was an excellent firefighter, outstanding officer and a very knowledgeable instructor.
Pat will be truly missed by the members of this Department. He is survived by his wife and son, mother, relatives and countless friends. Please keep Pat and his family in your prayers.
