One of two children born to Cecil Owens and Addie (Nolan) Owens, however she was raised by Irene Owens as Addie passed away when Esther was four years old. Esther was married to Frankie Benn Slatton until his death on September 12, 1962. Following his death she married Lee Roy Barbour in Tulsa on December 4, 1964. Lee Roy preceded her in death on May 26, 2006.
Survived by two sons and their wives, two stepsons, two step-daughters and their husbands, eighteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, two sisters, a brother, and a large host of other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be in the Mobley-Dodson Chapel on Friday, May 1, 2009 at 1:30 p.m.
Interment will follow at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow under the direction of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service.
