He married Mary S. Powell October 21, 1852, in Chester County, Pennsylvania.A Civil War veteran, a corporal with Co. G, 133rd Pennsylvania Infantry. He also enlisted in Harrisburg February 27, 1864, with the regular army and assigned to the Signal Corps. Died in Altoona after being hit by a train.
