Marie Nein
Rozella Marie Brown Nein
, 81, of Greeley, formerly of Sedgwick, died June 8 after complications from cancer.
She was born April 1, 1923, in Chandler, Okla., to Keith and Ida (Saulsberry) Brown.

On Nov. 30, 1942, she married Alexander (Sander) Nein.
When she was 14, she and her family moved to Sedgwick. She attended Sedgwick High School and graduated in 1941.
Mrs. Nein spent one year in California, planning to work in an aircraft factory, but returned to Sedgwick and got married. She and her husband farmed the family farm west of Sedgwick for 20 years, until it was sold in 1962. They moved into town and continued to farm for another 16 years, retiring in 1978.

Mrs. Nein worked as a substitute rural mail carrier and later as clerk in the Sedgwick post office for 22 years. In 1965, she suffered a virus that caused her retirement from the post office.

She was a charter member of the Sedgwick Community Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon, ruling elder, clerk of session, taught Sunday School, and sang in the choir. She was also active in Presbyterian Women. Mrs. Nein was founder of the Sedgwick Sanitation Project and served as county coordinator for Gov. Roy Romer for 12 years.

After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling. She loved her grandchildren tremendously; they were her pride and joy.

Services were June 12 at Sedgwick Community Presbyterian Church.

Interment was in the Sedgwick Cemetery.
Austin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
