Loretta Dunnahoe, age 62 of Shafter, Ca, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt died peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles; parents, Phyllis and Brownie Coleman.
Loretta was born on July 2, 1945, in Wasco, Ca, to Phyllis and Brownie Coleman. Loretta grew up in Shafter. She worked as a nursing assistant for many years, and always liked helping people who were in need.
Loretta enjoyed playing board games and cards with family and friends as well as playing bingo. Loretta was also a great cook and everyone always enjoyed eating at her home. There was always plenty and she made everyone feel welcomed.
Loretta is survived by her partner of many years, Leonard Rumbo; her children, Rick Rumbo and wife, Beth, Tom Rumbo, Mark Rumbo and wife, Monica, and Tammy Welch and husband, Edward; her siblings, Phyllis Ann Coleman, Raymond Coleman and wife, Pat; Paul Coleman and wife, Pat; nine grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to her wonderful sister, Phyllis Ann and her two granddaughters, Bettina Rumbo and Angela Rumbo who were with her 24 hours a day until the end. We would also like to thank Optimal Hospice for their care and support.
A graveside funeral service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home was be held at Shafter Memorial Park on Saturday, September 22, 2007, at 11am, for Loretta J. Dunnahoe. Pastor Jim Glasco of the Seventh Standard Pentecostal Church of God officiated the service and interment followed.
