In loving memory of Clinton D. Barkley, of Jacksonville, FL, formerly of Savona, NY, passed away April 6, 2009. He was born to Clair and Edythe Dorman Barkley July 30, 1929. Clint is survived by his wife of 60 years, Donna Polmanteer Barkley, son David Barkley, daughter Elaine (Jerry) Scanlon of Jacksonville and Daughter Robin (Richard) Hill, sister Clara (Art) DuVall of Savona, sister-in law Mary Robins of Bath and brother-in-law Bill (Sondra) Polmanteer of Wachula, FL, special friend Don (Juanita) Allen and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by brother Robert Robins and sister Virginia Holtz. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Emily (Jared) Mehlenbacher, Katie Scanlon and Evan Hill and two great- grandsons, Nate Gleason and Liam Hill. Clint graduated from Bradford Central School in 1947, was a member of the Savona Federated Church, attended the Arlington Christian Church of Jacksonville and an honorary member of the Savona Engine and Hose Co. for 57 years. Clint never met a stranger and touched the lives of many in his years in both New York and Jacksonville. There will be a celebration of his life Saturday, April 11, 2 PM at TJ'S Irish Pub. Interment will be in Seaman's Cemetery, Savona NY at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville FL 32257.
