She wed her (1st husband Rev. Tillman Ross Braddy Sr.) and they had three children; Yvonne Harrison, Charlotte "Carol" (Brendal), Tillman Ross Braddy Jr.
Tillman Sr whom she called him "Tilly" was a Baptist Minister and was constantly traveling the country in the 20's and 30's. This proved to be to difficult for her and the kids so the marriage ended in 1926. She wed (her 2nd husband Clint Anglemire) in 1935. He was widower and retired policeman. He died in 1938 leaving her a widow. It was his second marriage also. Amanda has 5 grandchildren, Michelle Harrison Godfrey, Steven Harrison, Ann M Pasque, Susan J Braddy, and Scott Braddy.
I discovered pictures of Amanda on the internet through the Chicago Tribune of her playing, (of all things basketball) in 1906! (see pictures)Evidently with a church all girls team. They are shown on the right. I am grateful to the Chicago Tribune for archiving them. They kept them as period pieces for early 20th century Chicago. I never would have guessed that Amanda who I always knew as an older woman was at one time young and full of pep and played sports! I bet she was good at it too!
Another interesting photo of her that blew me away is this one of her and President Taft at the train depot. I wish I knew the story behind it but I don't.
Amanda was an Artist, and owner of an art supply/gallery where she and daughter Carol displayed and sold their art consisting of oils, and water colors. She was also a writer and lover of animals.
Most importantly, I think was the fact that she documented genealogy information on our family encouraged by her parents. This genealogy was then passed down to me through my father. I can't thank her enough for that.
MY GRANDMA!!
