James Anson and his wife, Anna Potter, moved to Colorado before 1880. To their union were born at least three children; Flora, Frederick and Nellie. After Anna's death in 1890, James Anson married Sarah Miller on July 28, 1891 in Arapahoe County, Colorado. James and Sarah had one daughter, Irene.
