Sarah was the daughter of Moulton SHORT and Charlotte Matilda TRACY. Sarah was 20 years old when she married Simon HUFFORD on December 26, 1862, in Sandusky County, Ohio. Her husband Simon was the son of Cornelius HUFFORD and Mary ZOOK.

Sarah and Simon had the following children:

Burial site information is from a mug-book entry for her father-in-law (Cornelius Hufford). The book was "Commemorative Biographical Record of Sandusky and Ottawa, Ohio." Published 1896; information is at page 493. Interment information was confirmed with the grave stone photo in April 2009, and with an April 2009 telephone conversation with the cemetery caretaker who found the name of Sarah's husband on a list of lot purchasers. [NOTE: That mug-book has incorrect information regarding Sarah's husband Simon's ancestry. Simon's father was Cornelius, b. 1806 KY, who was the son of Jacob HUFFORD, b. 1772 MD, who was the son of Christian HOFFART, b. 1716 near Schwaigern, Germany.]

There is much open space around the markers of Simon and his wife. The two burials are in an 8-plot section. Their markers take up four plots; the extra four plots leave open space around them.
