Stephen Andrew McKnight

Mr. Stephen Andrew McKnight, 32, of 177 Gray Fox Drive, Lawndale died Friday, April 03, 2009 at home.
Born August 27, 1976 in Cleveland County, he was a son of Stephen Weldon McKnight and Joyce Cooper McKnight both of Shelby.

Mr. McKnight has had 12 years employment with PPG Industries in Shelby as a sliver handler. He was an active member of Blessed Way Baptist Church of Lawndale and was a member of Lonesome Pine Hunting Club of South Carolina. Stephen was a loving family man who was loved by everyone who knew him.

Mr. McKnight was preceded in death by mother-in-law, Carolyn Sanders; grandmother, Inez Russ Cooper; grandfather, W.W. McKnight and special uncle, Ben Smith.

Mr. McKnight is survived by his wife of 12 years, Tammy Sanders McKnight, son, Andrew Weldon McKnight of the home; brother, Timothy McKnight and wife, Rebecca of Weaverville; grandmother, Gladys McKnight of Shelby; grandfather, Harrill Cooper of Lattimore; father-in –law and mother-in-law, Kemp "Buddy" and Marlene Sanders of Lawndale; nephew, Samuel James McKnight of Weaverville; special aunt, Rhonda McKnight Smith of Florida; two special friends, Scott Newcomb and Nick Beaver; also survived by a number of aunts, uncles and other family members and many wonderful friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday, April 5, 2009 from 5:30 until 7:00 PM at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston. At other times the family will be at the home, 177 Grey Fox Drive, Lawndale.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2:00 PM at Blessed Way Baptist Church in Lawndale with Rev. Tommy Cook and Rev. Gene Bumgardner officiating.
