At one point, "Real" Allen operated a grocery store on Main Street in Ellaville, a building which was a bowling alley for a short time, and later grocery and dry goods by Roy Carter. Aurelius and Susan V. (Tondee) lived in several different houses around town over the decades and had no known children.

CSA pension # 187807-00524: He says that he enlisted in Corinth , Miss. in 1862 and served with Company G of the 5th GA Regt. He surrendered with his unit in Greensboro, N. C. when the war ended. See GA Archives virtual vault pension under Schley County.

Son of Thomas Allen and Dorothy Dolly Murray.
Siblings: Mary Jane?, John Steven, Martha (Meadows), William (buried in this cemetery), Augustus E. (Civil War vet buried in Mississippi), and Henry Harrison "Tip" Allen (buried in Davis Oklahoma).
