Carrie I. Cox, age 91, passed away February 20, 2009 in Vancouver. She was born May 13, 1917 in Battle Ground, WA to Pearl and Julian Dimick. Her family moved frequently as her father found work. Carrie married Harold Cox on October 20, 1934 in Grass Valley, CA and they settled in Washougal in 1952. Carrie was a woman of many talents. She loved to sew, knit, crochet, beading work and making her beloved dolls. After her husband died she stayed at home with her flowers and growing strawberries. She loved canning her own vegetables and fruits, jam, jelly and pickles. She also made homemade bread. Carrie loved talking about her beloved Lord and reading her Bible. Let the words of David speak to your heart in 2 Samuel 12:22 & 23.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold; infant daughter, Vivian Cox and only brother, William Dimick.

Survivors include her sons, Clifford Cox of Washougal, WA, Larry Cox of Sacramento, CA; daughter, Donna Collins of McMinnville, OR; sisters, Marjorie Lowy of Vancouver, Florence Lindbloom of Central Point, OR, Melba Evans of Gainesville, GA; Pearl Blaylock of Vancouver, WA; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, February 25 at 2pm at Straub's Funeral Home in Camas. Burial will be private at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery.
