Alex was born at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido.
She grew up in Ramona and graduated from Ramona High School in 2000. She earned a a bachelor's degree in molecular biology from Cal State San Marcos in 2005. Alex initially planned to become a doctor. But after graduating, she decided she wanted to have a baby. She started working at a Home Depot and met her future husband, Jay, who is now assistant manager of a Home Depot in Otay Mesa.
Alexandria is survived by her husband; Jay, her 4-week-old son, Jayden, and two step-children; Alyssa, 5, and Ethan, 9. She is also survived by her mother; Pam McKeirnan and brother Shannon Paul McKeirnan.
The Drake family is planning a celebration of life for Alexandria at noon Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 527 Ninth St., Ramona.
Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary in Bonita at 3838 Bonita Road. The church service and burial will be open to the public.
