According to the 1910 U.S. Census for Ft Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas, she lived with her husband William Bumgarner (born in North Carolina, switchman for the railroad), daughter Elisabeth (5) and son Melvin (1), and four borders. According to the 1920 U.S. Census for Winslow, Navajo Co., Arizona, she lived with William and two children - Eloise (Eloyse Elizabeth) and (William) Melvin. William Sr. was a brakeman for the Santa Fe Railroad. They were later divorced.

She was married to Charles Wesley Harp for many years. She married Charles Barstow following Mr. Harp's death.
