Henry T. Canup
Funeral services for Henry . Canup, 69, who died Saturday morning at the city hospital at Fayetteville, following a serious illness of two weeks, were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Elm Springs Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Conley Pate, pastor of the Springdale Church of the Nazarene. Burial was in the Elm Springs cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Wasson Funeral home of Siloam Springs.
Mr. Canup was born, Jan. 24, 1879 at Benton, Ky. A son of James A. and Louisa Canup. He moved with his parents to Elm Springs in 1881 and in 1903 he was married to Eddie P, Walker, who passed away in 1912. To this union were born two children, Mrs. Lillian Doshier of Tulsa and Edward J. Canup of Cucamonga, California
On March 5, 1913, Mr. Canup was married to Effie E. Killingsworth, by whom he is survived. To this union were born three children. Mrs. Jonnie Leavech of Plymouth, Mich., Joe and Frank Canup of Springdale. He is also survived by one stepdaughter, Mrs. Allie Lock of San Bernardino, Calif.
Mr. Canup was a prominent farmer and poultry raiser of this community. In 1943 he moved from the old home near Elm Springs to the present home within the city limits of Springdale on the Tontitown highway. Besides his wife and daughter. Mr. Canup is also survived by 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
