FITZGERALD, CATHERINE, (nee Tawresey), 66 of Ocean City, on Monday, August 27, 2001 at her home. Born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania she had lived in Collingswood before moving to Ocean City. Cathy attended Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, PA and Glassboro State College where she graduated in 1955. She then began her teaching career in Cherry Hill Public Schools. Cathy returned to Glassboro to receive her master's degree in Library Science. She retired in 1987 after 31 years as a teacher and Librarian. During her retirement she volunteered in the Ocean City Public Library and St. Augustine's Elementary School. She belonged to many professional Educational Organizations, N.E.A.; N.J.E.A.; Camden County Education Association and the Cherry Hill Education Association. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Timothy Fitzgerald; her brother in law, Joseph Fitzgerald and his wife Miriam, a niece Joann and nephew Gary of Brandon, Florida; brother in law Frank Van Artsdalen, nieces Margaret Van Artsdalen, Barbara Lehman, Linda Van Artsdalen, and nephew Harold Van Artsdalen all of Rio Grande. She is also survived by many close and loving friends. A service of Memory and Love will be offered Wednesday at Twelve O'Clock noon from the Godfrey Funeral Home, 809 Central Avenue, Ocean City. Burial will be private in Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, Cape May Court House. The family suggests those who desire send memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 626 North Shore Road, Abesecon, NJ.08201 or Compassionate Care Hospice, 58 Mill Street, Mt. Holly, NJ 08060.
