Dean F. Affeld, 58, North Port, and Hickory Corners, Mich, and formerly of Bradenton, died Aug. 10, 2004. He was born Oct. 13, 1945, in Valparaiso, Ind., and came to North Port three years ago from Bradenton. He retired from the U.S. Treasury Department and had been an accountant at Upjohn Pharmaceutical Co., Kalamazoo, Mich. He taught finance at Western Michigan University where he had received a bachelor's and a master's degree in business administration.
Survivors include his wife, Rita; his parents, Vernon and Dorothy of Indiana; and a brother Ralph of Indiana.
