Everett Breen, 83, died Friday, January 2, 2009 in Lexington. Mr. Breen was born February 2, 1925 in Georgetown, Kentucky, son of the late Viola (Humphrey) and Truston Breen. Mr. Breen retired from the State Highway Dept. and was a member of Penn Avenue Baptist Church.

He is survived by one son, Everett "Willie" (Susan) Breen of Georgetown; two daughters, Hulah Dean (Kenneth) Wasson of Oxford, KY and Wanda Breen Sowers of Georgetown; One sister, Christine (Pete) Wells; Eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Breen was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy B. Smith Breen and three sisters, Arnetta Bartley, Jewell Wright and Daisy Wise.

Friends may call on Sunday from 5 to 8 pm at Johnson's Funeral Home, where services will be held Monday at 10:30 AM with Rev. Bobby Sageser and Rev. Curtis Coots officiating. Serving as pallbearer will be his grandsons and nephews, Barry Wasson, Shawn Sowers, Gayle Earl Sowers, Coy Breen, Randall Wells, Ricky Wise, Terry Wise and Carol William Bartley. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Price Smith, Gayle Breen, Arthur Radar, Billy Rogers, Eddie Mulberry, Wilber Harrod, Frank Darnell, Jay Brooks and Pete Wise. Burial will be in Crestlawn Cemetery.
