She died at 5:20 a.m. Monday (June 10, 1991) at Octavia Manor, Colfax, where she had been a resident for six weeks.
She was born Jan. 26, 1910, in Fordsville, Ky., a daughter of Henry C. and Susie Tucker Sapp. She married Jesse Burnette Dec. 27, 1927, in Fordsville. He died Sept. 13, 1971.
Surviving are one son, William H., Wheatfield, Ind.; four daughters, Bernice Jones, Holder; Delores Suttle, 601 W. Bissell St., Bloomington; Naomi Wyant, Sibley; and Jessie LaVerne Schaefer, 613 N. School St., Normal; one sister, Hazel Tutko, Valley Station, Ky.; 23 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one infant son, one granddaughter, one brother and one sister.
Mrs. Burnette was a seamstress at the OK Taylor Shop in Bloomington for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Bloomington.
Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
