Winthrop was the first of Edwin Cornelius & Ella Caroline (Lord) Bronson's four children. His siblings were: Emma, Edwin "Neddie" Cornelius, Jr., & Waldemar.

His first marriage was to Helena M. Murdock in Snohomish Co, WA on March 11, 1897.

His second marriage was to Lola Bell Brown in Centralia, Lewis Co, WA, on July 15, 1907. They had one son, Donald Winthrop, on May 22, 1912.

"Resort Owner Passes
Offut Lake-Winthrop Lord Bronson, 91, a resident of the Offut Lake area for the past 52 years, died in an Olympia hospital Monday evening. Born Dec. 9, 1875, at Waupaca, Wis. Mr. Bronson opened Bronson's Resort on Offut Lake in 1915 and operated it until his death.

He was a former longtime car salesman in the Lewis-Thurston County area and was a member of the Episcopal church.

Survivors include the widow, Lola Belle, at home; a son Don W. Bronson, Offut Lake; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, 1 p.m., at Newell-Hoerling's, Centralia. The Rev. MacKenzie Murray will officiate with burial to follow at Washington Lawn cemetery, Centralia."

Lola died on October 30, 1981.
