He was born Nov. 9, 1949, in Pine Springs, into the Salt Water People Clan for the Black Streak Wood People Clan.
Thomas was employed most of his life as a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include his wife, Elta A. Thomas of Houck; sons, Ravis Thomas of Phoenix, Raylon Thomas of White River, Rayford Thomas of Shiprock; brother, Art L. Thomas Sr. of Pine Springs; sisters, Mary Cowboy-Six of Pine Springs, Annie James of Gallup, Dorothy James of Tohatchi; seven grandchildren.
Thomas was preceded in death by his sons, Raymond Thomas, R. Jay Thomas; parents, Yilthnabah and Joe Thomas; sisters, Lucy Begay, Mary Silversmith; brother, Ralph Thomas.
Pallbearers will be Julius Arthur, Stuart Francisco, Aaron Thomas, Art L. Thomas Jr., Clyde Tsosie, Vinson Six Sr.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Houck Chapter House, following services.
