Colorado State Patrol Trooper Charles Andrew Fry (Badge 357) was struck and killed on Saturday, September 26, 1987, by a DUI driver on Interstate 25 in Colorado between Denver and Colorado Springs. The driver was sentenced to 16 years in prison but served only 12. Within the first nine months after his release, he was arrested two more times for DUI.
Trooper Fry, was survived by his wife, son, and daughter. He was 41 years old.
