Services for John I Charles, 84, of Wagoner were Friday at 2 p.m. in Mallett Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jim Palmer and L. W. Mayo officiating. Burial was in Pioneer Cemetery. Pallbearers were Willard Cooper, Clifford Cooper, Tom Henderson, Harry Henderson, Stan Rutherford, Keith Hood and Bobby Buford.
Born October 8, 1894, in Harrison, Arkansas, Charles died Wednesday March 21, 1979, at his home following an apparent heart attack. He was a retired farmer and construction worker and a longtime resident of the Wagoner area. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Esther, of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Mildred Cooper of Tulsa, Mrs. Beatrice Rogers of Hulbert, Mrs. Lena Willis of Owasso, Mrs. Lorene Henderson and Mrs. Vivian Rutherford, both of Sapulpa; a sister, Mrs. Flora Steelman of Hulbert; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
