George Coite Everett was born 25 Jan 1831 in Bethel, Sullivan Co., NY to Henry and Lucy Coite Everett. He married Mary Arnold on 26 Sep 1858 in Mazeppa, Wabasha Co., MN.

George served in the War Between the States as a corporal in the 8Minnesota company G from 30 Oct 1862 until 11 Jul 1865.

On the 28 Feb 1874 while hauling a load of lumber from Lake City, the load capsized in the snowdrifts and George was crushed to death between the lumber and a fence.

George is buried in Dale Pleasant Prarie Cemetery.
