Emma Atchley, 39, wife of Nando Atchley, had been suffering from cancer for the past two years and even went to Houston, Texas for treatment about six weeks ago. She seemed to have improved for a while, but last week her condition suddenly took a turn for the worse and Nando went to Texas to bring her home.
They arrived in Lebanon, but Mrs.Atchley felt too ill to travel on to their home in the Candock neighborhood, so they stopped at the home of a cousin, Mrs. John Tyler, where Mrs. Atchley died 11am Monday.
Funeral services were held 10am Wednesday at the family home with Rev. J.E. Hinkie officiating. The Candock Choir sang,"Jesus, Lover of My Soul", "This Strange Land" and "Sometime We'll Understand".
Burial was in the Atchley family graveyard.
