Denver was born on November 5th, 1936, son of the late Parks Britton Davenport and Eliza Mary McVey Davenport. He came to Somerset from Harlan County, Kentucky and was a retired self-employed mechanic. He was employed by the Pulaski County Board of Education and was a member of the Liberty Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of London, Kentucky.
Denver was survived by his loving wife, Nannie Bowman Davenport, whom he married in Somerset, Kentucky on July 21st, 1961; one son, Darrell (and his wife, Kim) Davenport; two daughters, Kimberly Joy "Kim" Rose and Amy Nichole Davenport; two brothers, Jess Davenport and John Davenport; four sisters, Maggie Finley, Georgie Stringer, Kathleen Pucta, and Marie Asbery; three grandchildren, Stephanie Davenport, Amber Rose, and Stacie Davenport; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Parks Britton Davenport, who departed this life on July 24th, 1972 and Eliza McVey Davenport, who departed this life on December 11th, 1993; and one brother, Bill Davenport.
Visitations were held after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16th, 2002 at the Lange & New Brothers Family Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17th, 2002 in the Chapel of the Lange & New Brothers Family Funeral Home with Bros. Lester Carpenter and Bill Rose officiating.
Burial followed in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Somerset, Kentucky.
