Born in Harrison County, December 22, 1931, to the late Frank Sprake and Mary Ellen Cleveland VanDeren, he was a former security guard for Wells Fargo Security and a United States Air Force veteran. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Wyatt VanDeren; a son, Dave Sprake VanDeren, Jr. and a grandson, Christopher Shane VanDeren.
He is survived by two sons, Dwayne (Judy) VanDeren, Harrison County and Richard Lee (Lydia) VanDeren, Cynthiana; a daughter, Jennifer Karen VanDeren, Cynthiana; a half-brother, Joe VanDeren, Ft. Worth, Texas; a sister, Ann VanDeren Smith, Mississippi; a half-sister, Dorothy Jean VanDeren Peterson, Cynthiana and three grandchildren, Eileen Price, Katherine VanDeren and Shantell Soto.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Battle Grove Cemetery under the direction of Ware Funeral Home.
