GARLAND, Texas - Funeral services for Charles C. Pitts, 84, of 219 North Seventh, Garland, a retired rural mail carrier, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church here with the Rev. Charles Cockrell officiating. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park, Dallas.
Mr. Pitts died Thursday night in a Garland hospital after a short illness.
He was a mail carrier in Wylie, Collin County, for more than 30 years. A resident of Garland the past 20 years, Mr. Pitts served several years as a precinct election judge here. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Modern Woodmen and Woodmen of the World.
Survivors are his wife; four daughters, Mrs. L. B. Gordon, Mrs. Eulala Bethel, Mrs. Rhea L. Edwards and Mrs. Jack E. Anderson, all of Dallas; one son John B. Pitts of Houston; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
