Dr. A. Teitgen Is Dead at 76
MANITOWOC—Dr. Arthur A. Teitgen, 76, of 1313 Marshall St., Manitowoc, who was recently awarded the 50 year service pin by the Wisconsin State Medical Society, died Sunday morning at Holy Family Hospital. He was a past president of the Manitowoc County Medical Society, former chief of staff at Holy Family Hospital
prior to his retirement and a member of Manitowoc County draft board, District 1, in 1952. He was also a member of the American Medical Society, the Wisconsin State Medical Society and a member of the Masonic Order in Manitowoc.

Dr. Teitgen was born April 2, 1881, in the Town of Newton, son of the late Theodore and Mary Pleuss Teitgen. He attended Manitowoc schools and after graduation taught rural schools at Newton and Two Creeks before deciding to enter medical school at Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill. Upon graduation from medical school he practiced a year in Evanston and in 1907 came to Manitowoc. He married Mathilda Strupp in the Town of Newton Feb. 23, 1908. In 19__ he and his wife went to Germany where Dr. Teitgen spent four months taking special courses in medical schools in Berlin and Austria.

Private funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, the Rev. Gervase Zanotti officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dr. Theodore Teitgen of Manitowoc and Chester of College Point, N.Y.; two brothers, August of Edmonton, Wash., and Atty. Clarence Teitgen of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Otto Koentopp of St. Paul Minn. and three grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home until noon Tuesday.
