I believe the following information came from his obituary, but I was not given the source information.

Services for Burton Lowry Kirtley, Sr., 79, retired oil operator were held at First Baptist Church.

Burton Lowry Kirtley moved to Graham in 1920 from Eliasville. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star.

Burton Lowry Kirtley married Miss Ada Hill on 6 April 1913 at Eliasville, Texas.

Survived by his wife; one son - Burton Kirtley, Jr; three sisters - Mrs. Charlie Minkley, Mrs. Stella DeLong and Mrs. Vera Donnell.

Burton Kirtley attended schools in Eliasville and Caddo according to the school records. After graduation from Caddo, he continued to work on his father's farm. He moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma in 1907, then returned to Caddo to farm in 1908. By 1914, Mr. Kirtley moved to California. In 1919, he returned to Texas to farm in Eliasville according to the Eliasville newspaper. In 1923, he moved to Graham to establish his business, Paris Tailors. Mr. Kirtley served as City Councilman for five years in Graham.
