Joanne D. Auman, 71, of Sissonville died peacefully Thursday, February 26, 2009, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
She was born December 20, 1937, in Akron, Ohio. She was the owner and operator of Mrs. Auman's Preschool in Sissonville for the past thirty years. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, South Charleston.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; daughters and sons-in-law, Carrie and Stan Howell of Hurricane, Amy and Eric Coberly of Goldtown, Beth and Ryan Jones of Sissonville and Jenny and Joe Newhouse of Sissonville; grandchildren, Adam, Mandy and Jacob Howell, Megan and Nicole Patton, Emma Coberly, Madison, Brady and Kennedy Jones and Blake, Hayden and Cole Newhouse.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 2, at Blessed Sacrament Church, South Charleston. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, at the church with the Rev. John Finnell officiating. Internment of the ashes will be in a private service at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, at a later date.

The family would like to suggest, in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations be made to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W., Charleston, WV, 25312.
