Death has visited our village and taken one of our best known and respected women. Mrs. Nellie Beaumont passed away November 6, 1918 after a short illness of influenza and its complications while caring for her son Mearl, whose untimely death occurred only a few days ago. Nellie Beaumont was born June 8, 1853, the daughter of Philander and Clarissa Russell Brainerd. She married John H. Beaumont December 18, 1878, and to this union were born twin sons February 13, 1890. They had lived on the Delhi Road farm for many years until moving to the village. She was faithful to the Methodist Church and its societies. A woman devoted to family and home her loss will be irreparable and sympathy goes out to her husband and son Earl to whom fate has dealt a double blow. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Rachel Wiseman of Gainesville; a granddaughter of Buffalo and many other relatives. The funeral was held at her home with Rev. Reuben Tunmer officiating with burial in Maple Grove, Gainesville.
