ELMO A. KNIGHT

Elmo A. Knight, 78, of LaGrange, Missouri, died at 7:26 a.m. Saturday (April 14, 2007) in the Emergency Room at Blessing Hospital. Born August 11, 1928 in Camp Point, Illinois, Elmo was the son of John J and Ruby Stidham Knight. He married Shirley L. Kaufman on November 17, 1956 in Quincy, Illinois. She survives. Elmo was a roofer for over 37 years in the Denver, Colorado area until his retirement in 1998 when he moved back to the Quincy area.
He served his country in the Army during WWII. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and tinkering with electronics especially CB radios and scanners. Survivors include one son Elmo A Knight Jr. of LaGrange, Mo; two grandchildren, Stacey Bellan and Mandy Lee Bellan both of Denver, Colorado; two brothers Harold Knight and John "Junior" Knight Jr. both of Columbia, Mo; two sisters Arlene McGee and Venita Holt and her husband Harry both of Columbia, MO; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Ricky Odell Knight and two sisters Elverie Acton and Joyce Jones. Graveside services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:30 at Evergreen Cemetery in Camp Point by the Rev. V. Lee Amsler.
Visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 9:00 until 10:30 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy. Memorials may be made to the Elmo Knight Memorial Fund.
