Mary Camp Whitney, 79, a native of Cotton Valley and resident of Houma, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Religious service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery.

She is survived by three sons, Ricky Babin and wife, Sue, of Bourg, Ronald Babin and wife, Karry, of Richmond, Texas, and Randel Babin of Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter, Robin Babin of Tallahassee; two brothers, Malcolm Camp and George Camp of Minden; one sister, Jean Falgout of Bayou Blue; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo F. Whitney Sr.; her parents, Joe M. and Velma Parker Camp; one grandson, Jacob Babin; one daughter, Rebecca Whatley; one brother, Joe Camp; and one sister, Doris Combs.

She was a member of the Ladies Gideon Society and was Baptist.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, 7200 Desiard St., Monroe, LA 71203.
