Luis Perez Alarcon passed away on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002 at Woodland Skilled Nursing in Woodland. Born on Aug. 19, 1925 in Brownsville, Texas, he was 76 years old.

Mr. Alarcon was raised in Texas. He was a Winters resident for the past 33 years. He was a laborer in the agricultural and construction industries for many years. He was described by his family as a hard-working family man who enjoyed the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Gloria G. Alarcon of Winters; children, Jose Alarcon and Frank Alarcon of Winters; grandchildren Clia, Ray and Monica Retes of Tracy; great-grandchildren Jennifer Kaguay and Josephine Retes; brother, Gilbert Alarcon of Winters and sister, Lupita Galvin of Ohio.

A rosary will be recited on Thursday, Feb. 21, at 6 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Winters. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 22, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Private burial will be held at the Winters Cemetery. Smith's Colonial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
