WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. - Beatrice S. Marlowe, 90 passed away on August 8, 2004, in West Palm Beach, Fla. She was born in Madison in 1913. Bea attended Longfellow School and was in the first class to graduate from West High School. She danced professionally in Madison before she met Hy at UW-Madison Hillel in 1933. She married Hy in 1935, in the Sinaiko home on Emerald St. After moving to Brooklyn, N.Y. and then Rockville Centre, N.Y. in 1943, Bea raised four children and was active in PTA, Girl Scouts, ORT, and Technion. She was the president of the RVC chapter of Hadassah for many decades. Bea was renowned for her baking and her knitting. She was a friend to everyone, always attentive, loving, and compassionate. In 1979, Bea and Hy retired to Florida and for 23 years she taught knitting and worked in every needlework shop within driving distance. Her beautiful smile and loving care will be missed by all who knew her. Bea is survived by her four children, Judi (Bob) Rubin, Madison, Barbara Waters, Columbia, Mo., David (Joanne), Oceanside, N.Y., Douglas (Celia), Naperville, Ill.; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Seltzer, Florida, and Lois Webb, Texas; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Pauline and William Sinaiko; her husband of 61 years, Hyman; and her sisters, Esther Cohn, Ruth Max, and Doris Katz. Beatrice was interred on August 11, 2004, at the Menorah Gardens Cemetery and Mausoleum in West Palm Beach, Fla. Memorials may be made to the Golden Lakes Chapter of Hadassah, c/o Gloria Wolchan, 148 Lake Anne Dr., WPB, FL 33411. May her memory be for a blessing.
