Loretta Clementine Caudill Bailey (1926-2009)

Loretta Clementine Caudill Bailey "Granny," 82, of Flatwoods, went to be with the Lord and her first-born daughter, the Rev. Judith Erwin, on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009.

She was a member of Highlawn Full Gospel Assembly in Huntington, where she served as a pastor's wife for 35 years with the father of their children, Harry Bailey Jr. She also attended Faith Christian Assembly with a host of church family and friends whom she loved dearly, and a special daughter, Diane Boott.

Mrs. Bailey was born March 12, 1926, in Flatwoods, a daughter of the late Orville and Ida Mae Caudill.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Opal (Ed) Keeton.

She leaves behind five children — her daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Joe Robinson of Bellefonte, Myra and Larry Erwin of Wurtland and Valoria Bailey-Rucker and Duane Rucker of Russell; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Donna Jo Bailey of Russell and Jonathan and Rebecca Bailey of Wurtland; a son-in-law, Sebert "Butch" Erwin of Russell; a special stepmon, Mary Ann "Peggy" Caudill of Russell; a sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Howard Bailey of Flatwoods; 12 very special grandchildren; seven very special great-grandchildren; and lots of wonderful nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at noon Tuesday at Faith Christian Assembly in Flatwoods by the family and Pastor Dwight Bailey. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods and after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
