Amelia Hopkins (1. John Hopkins, 2, Stephen Hopkins, 3. Ebenezer Hopkins, 4. Stephen Hopkins, 5. Stephen Hopkins Jr., 6. Edward Hopkins) was the daughter of Edward Hopkins and Mary Stewart

Amelia married Charles Babcock on 21 December 1842. Charles was born on 10 December 1812, and died on 22 July 1894, of chronic cystitis. At the time of his death he was living at 806 U. First Street, in Evansville.

In 1850 Amelia and Charles were living in Pigeon Ward. Charles was a merchant.

In 1870 Charles and Amelia were living in Evansville. The children listed in the federal census were, Mary, Edward, Gertrude, Annie, Charles, William and Grace.

In 1900 Amelia is widowed and living in Evansville with Gertrude and Charles. The federal census record indicates that she is the mother of 7 children, 7 living.
