Maud Plohmia Barrett , 76, 308 Harmon Drive, Rogersville passed away Thursday (Dec. 28, 2000) at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Barrett was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and a member of Friendly View Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Barrett ; parents, Enos and Nannie Bailey McLain; granddaughter, April Eve Barrett ; brothers, Doyle, Drexel, Earl and Asa McLain; one infant brother; and sister Molly Cradic.
She is survived by three sons, Garnie Barrett and Dewey Barrett , both of Rogersville, and Roy Lee (Junior) Barrett , Church Hill; one daughter, Helen Jeffers, Surgoinsville;
one brother, Willard McLain, Rogersville; six sisters, Ressie Sauer, Huron, Ohio, Ruby Manis, Rogersville, Myrlie Cradic, Loverl Long, Wanda Smith and Genieva McLain, all of Church Hill;
three granddaughters, Frankie Thacker, Karla Delph and Robin Manis;
six grandsons, Dewey (Dee) Barrett , Phillip Barrett , Greg (Bob) Barrett , Johnny Jeffers, Eddie Jeffers, and Gregory Junior Barrett ;
ten great-granddaughters; 10 great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home. Friends may also call anytime at the residence. Services will be conducted today at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Paul Nichols, the Rev. Paul Haun and the Rev. John Patterson officiating. Graveside services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at Goshen Valley Cemetery.
