Born as Sarah Ellen Burr, dau of David & Louisa (Oxley) Burr of Greene Co, OH. She married Levi Ellis Fawcett in 1856, and sometime between 1870 and 1880, they moved to Van Wert Co, OH. The 1900 census record of Van Wert Co states that she was the mother of 13 children born with 10 living at that time. Known children were:
Emma J, Albert, Mary L, John D, David B, Robert, William S, Alma, Hannah, Elva, Franklin and Della.
