Robert Taylor "Bobby" Allen, 76, of Elizabethtown, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

A native of Hardin County, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from Fort Knox civil service after 32 years. He was a member of New Horizon Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Burkhart and Ruby Williams Allen.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Betty Lou Simpson Allen; two sons, Gary W. Allen and his wife, Lynette, and Ricky D. Allen and his wife, Julie, all of Bowling Green; one daughter, Judy L. Conder and her husband, Harold, of Cecilia; three sisters, Sue Pence of Elizabethtown, Marilyn Gavin of Georgetown, Ind., and Faye Kugle of Louisville; one brother, Roger Allen of Louisville; nine grandchildren, Melissa Love, Jason Bush, Taylor Allen, Nathan Allen, Brittany Robinson, Patrick Hanlon, Christopher Hanlon, Sean Hanlon and Bryan Hanlon; and two great-grandchildren, Andrew Love and Kerrick Hanlon.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Steve Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
