Mary T. Mordt, 95, of Belvidere died at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in Belvidere Healthcare Center after a lingering illness. She was born March 2, 1906 in Lake Preston, South Dakota, the daughter of Andrew and Anna Olson Anderson. Mary married Everett C. Mordt on Feb. 12, 1927, in South Dakota. She was self-employed as a baby sitter and worked two years at St. Joesph Hospital as a nurse's aide. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Harvard, the Home Bureau and Ladies Aide Society of the Church. Mary loved to embroider and sew. Survivors include her children, Doris Henderson of Rockford, Lyle Mordt of Arizona and jean Keast of Garden Prairie; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and sisters-in law, Evelyn Anderson, Elizabeth Anderson and Ella Mordt. Predeceased by parents; husband, Everett; son, John; four brothers; two sisters and son-in law, Eldon Keast. Services at 10 a.m. Friday, April 13, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Harvard, with the Rev. Robert C. Kinnear officiating. Burial in North Burritt Cemetery, rural Winnebago. Vitiation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 12, in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 219 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or the American Diabetes Association in her name.
