New Castle Tribune March 7, 1902

"Squire Dille, one of the prominent men of Wayne Township, died Sunday night at his home north of Knightstown from obstruction of the bowels after an illness of but four days.
Mr. Dille was born in Monroe county, Ohio, December 18, 1827. When he was but a few months old his parents moved to this county and settled near Montgomery Creek and he spent most of his life near the original home, although he lived at Fortville a few years.
In the fall of 1861 he enlisted in the 57th Indiana, but was discharged for disability in the following June. In September, 1864, he was drafted and served in the 38th Indiana until the close of the war. He was appointed trustee of Wayne Township to fill the vacancy caused by the death of E. G, Mostler."
