He married May 16, 1934, Carrizozo, NM to Willie Henrietta Kelt. She is buried in Prairie Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II aboard the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga. After the war, he owned the Hobbs service station for more than 30 years. He was a volunteer fireman who was active in youth sports and the Lea County Sheriff Posse. A memeber of the First United Methodist Church, Odd Fellows, VFW, American Legion Lions Club and Masonic Lodge #63, where he was a 32nd. degree Mason.
They have a son Paul Hobbs, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sister, Katherine Bilbo McGuire.
