Mrs. Ed Simms and Mrs. Robert Vance received word last Friday evening of the death of their brother, Judd Abbott in a hospital at Salina. Mr. Abbott was 62 years of age. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon, at Gypsum, Kansas, a short distance from Salina.
Mr. Abbott was well known in Republic. He had been in poor health for the past few years and only the day before his death had one leg amputated in a last endeavor to prolong his life.
Besides the two sisters, Mrs. Vance and Mrs. Simms, the deceased leaves two brothers, Jim and Elmer, both of Cozad, Nebr., and a wife and child.
