Son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Beutler, he was born April 27, 1881, on a farm two miles east of Pratum. He lived there until 1919, when he moved to a farm at Salem Rt. 2, Box 607, one mile west of Pratum. He was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Mennonite Church here.
Beutler and Mulda [sic Hulda] Lardon of Salem were married at Salem on June 16, 1918.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Hulda A. Beutler, Pratum, two daughters, Miss Gretchen I. Beutler, Portland, and Miss Lillian Beutler, New York; one son, Henry J. Beutler, Pratum; one sister, Mrs. J. W. Schifferer, Turner; three brothers, Albert F. Beutler, Portland; Armin O. Beutler, Alhambra, Calif.; Frank Beutler, Salem; four grandchildren.
