Blanche C. Adair, age 83, resident of Brainerd, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at her home. She was born on May 18, 1924, in Chokio, Minn., to Joseph and Rose (Leither) Bachel. Blanche graduated from Chokio High School, attended a teachers training school and St. Cloud State College. She taught school for seven years in both Brainerd and Nisswa. She was united in marriage to Sheridan Adair on March 26, 1951, in Brainerd. She was a charter member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and a member of St. Christopher's Guild.

Blanche is survived by her husband, Sheridan, of 57 years; and five children, Carol (Mike) Spande, of Winona, Minn., Mary Ann (Bob) Gast, of Tennessee, Rick (Lynne) Adair and John Adair, both of Brainerd; David Adair, of Droper, Utah; nine grandchildren; her brother, Orville Bachel, of Baxter, Minn.; and two sisters, Rosemary Davis, of Chippewa Falls, Wis., and Betty Petersen, of Nisswa, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Clifford, Francis and James; two sisters, Lorraine Paulsen and Bettie Bachel; and her grandson, Troy Adair.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2008, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Gabriel Waweru officiating. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Camp Ripley. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. with parish prayers at 7 p.m. on Sunday at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd and the hour before services at the church on Monday.
