Mrs. Louise Elizabeth Adkison, age 72, of Eucheanna, Florida, passed away January 22, 2009. She was born September 9, 1936, in Levi County, Florida, to Charles and Josephine Smith Drury Yaun.

Mrs. Adkison was Apostolic by faith and a member of the New Life Apostolic Church in Eucheeanna. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling, camping, reading, going to church and serving the Lord. She had a very special talent for baking cakes, which she baked for church, family, and the community. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She volunteered as a Gray Lady for the Maude Saunders Elementary School for many years. She was known as a very good listener, enjoying many good conversations with her family.

Mrs. Adkison was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Bonnie Faye Drury, mother-in-law Bessie Adkison; two brothers-in-law Bill Adkison and Buddy Adkison; one sister-in-law Helen Garrett; one grandson-in-law Jeff Harrison and one grandson Jonathan Ryan Long.

Mrs. Adkison is survived by her husband of 55 years J.W. Adkison of Eucheeanna; one son Charles Adkison and wife Terri; three daughters Shirley McAnelly and husband Glen all of Eucheanna, Ann Weems and husband Danny of Morton, Mississippi and Barbara Adkison Duke of Eucheeanna; four sisters Leona Nobles of Ft. Myers, Florida, Frances Myers and husband Fred of Bluewater Bay, Florida, Shirley Ann Vicars and husband Bob of Bonifay, Florida and Anna Farris and husband Jay of Jacksonville, Florida; 16 grandchildren Jennifer Harrison, Karen Castiglione and husband Paul, Chris Weems, Kim Weems, Dana Laux, Sharon Brown and husband Joey, Gary Duke, Cynthia Duke, Sara Duke, Kayla Duke, Laura Burch and husband James, Kimberly Spaid, Haley Murray and husband Jacob, Brianna Adkison, Brandilynn Adkison and Jhacobe Adkison; 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

The Adkison family would like to offer a very special thanks to the Covenant Hospice Staff for their care and concern during their time of need. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00~until, Friday, January 23, 2009 at the New Life Apostolic Church, Eucheeanna, Florida.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the New Life Apostolic Church in Eucheeanna with Reverends Shannon Harrison, Jason Campbell, David King and Terry Hinote officiating.

Burial will follow in the Euchee Valley Cemetery. Floral arrangements are being accepted or donations may be made to Covenant Hospice at 101 Hart Street, Niceville, Florida 32578, or to your favorite charity.
