Boyd Wilson, 81, died Monday, October 24, 2005 at his residence, rural Newfolden, MN.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at New Hope Lutheran Church in Newfolden, MN with Pastor Ollie Urdahl officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, New Solum Township, Marshall Co., MN.

Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, October 28, 2005 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a 7:00 P.M. prayer service on Friday evening and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Boyd Wilson was born March 10, 1924 in Ryder, ND, the son of Charles and Ruth (Johnson) Wilson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and attended school in Newfolden, graduating from Newfolden High School, where he served as Class President. Following High School Boyd served in the United States Navy from September 16, 1944, and was Honorably Discharged on May 28, 1946. His ‘High School Class Motto' was "Out of the Harbor, Into the Sea."

Boyd was united in marriage on October 28, 1958 to Darlene Dengerud. He enjoyed deer hunting, woodworking and loved to sit and watch his cattle graze.

Boyd raised turkeys, chickens, cattle and kids. He did cement and carpentry work, remodeling, white washing, commercial mowing and he also worked at the Holt Creamery..

Boyd is survived by his children: Marvin Wayne, Dixon, CA, Margaret (Hal) McCullough, Hanover, KS, Larry Wayne, Drake, CO, Laurice (Curry Graham) Anderson, Woodland Park, CO, Scott Wilson, Newfolden, MN and John Wilson, Newfolden, MN; grandchildren: Eric (Rachelle) Heinecke, Denver, CO, Dean (Erin) Anderson, Wheatridge, CO, Eddie (Cynthia) Crawford, Greeley, CO, Wayne (fiance, Jamie) Crawford, Topeka, KS, Clint Wayne, IN, Nicholas (Cassie) Wilson, Newfolden, MN, Mathew Wilson, and Jesse Wilson, all of Thief River Falls, MN and Ashley Wilson, Denver, CO; great grandchildren: Tyler Anderson, Wheatridge, CO, Anthony Sandavol, Dominic Crawford and Christian Crawford, all of Greeley, CO and Allison Frisco of Denver, CO; and one brother, Vern (Verna) Wilson of Greeley, CO.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene, January 22, 2005; his parents; Charles and Ruth (Johnson) Wilson and one brother, Don Wilson.
