Funeral services for Ignacio Garcia Acosta Sr., 67, of Lampasas were held Saturday afternoon at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lampasas with Father Anthony Goossens O.M.T. officiating. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Acosta died Thursday at his residence.
Born July 31, 1926, in Mexico, he married Celia Calamaco on Feb. 21, 1949. He resided in Del Rio and worked for the city water works from 1958 of 1964. He was a rancher and was employed by the former Wieser Feed Mill. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Lampasas; four daughters and sons-in-law, Juanita A. and Pablo Jass, Stella and Felix Morua, Leticia and Raymond Medina, and Cecilia and John Salazar, all of Lampasas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Alice Acosta of Burnet, and Ignacio Jr. and Gloria Acosta of Fort Pierce, Fla.; a sister, Rosa Maria Garcia of Plainview; three brothers, Jose Acosta and Isaac Acosta of Del Rio, and Nolberto Acosta of Mexico; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers.
Pallbearers were Joe Acosta, Ignacio Acosta Jr., Ray Medina Jr., Fabian Morua, Pablo Jass Jr., Jessie Acosta and Fidel Morua.
Memorial Funeral Home of Lampasas had charge of arrangements.
